PRBRES UPDATES ON: Brokers, Salespersons, Examinees

Today we were able to talk to Honorable Rafael Fajardo of the PRBRES to discuss and clear several matters concerning real estate practitioners. Thank you to Mr. Fajardo for giving us clearance to post these updates. Please forward to everyone concerned. Thank you.

PRBRES UPDATES

1. REQUIREMENT OF TRANSCRIPT OF RECORDS FOR THOSE TAKING THE MARCH 2012 BROKER'S LICENSURE EXAMINATION:
It has been a ongoing rule since 2005 that all examinees taking board licensure examinations under PRC are required to present their Transcript of Records with scanned picture and "For Board Examination Purpose Only" stamp. However, PRBRES has recently requested the Application Division of PRC to temporarily suspend such ruling for APPLICANTS FOR BROKER'S LICENSURE EXAMINATION (whose major qualification is a college graduate, regardless of  the course taken). This is to act upon problems encountered by most examinees who have graduated a long time ago, and whose colleges and universities could not comply to the specific TOR requirements before the February 27 deadline of filing for exam permits.
Nevertheless, an application for the broker's examination is STILL ENCOURAGED to comply with the TOR requirement IF ABLE, and if his/her college or university can release such revised document ON TIME.

2. EXTENSION OF REGISTRATION FOR SALESPERSONS FALLING CATEGORIES B AND C (HIGHSCHOOL GRADUATES)

Following several requests from highschool-graduate agents for an extension of filing for registration under PRC, PRBRES is currently drafting a Resolution for a SEVEN-WORKING DAY EXTENSION, pending for approval by PRC Chairperson Manzala.  While the dates are still for announcement (target is end of February), salespersons under Categories B and C (highschool graduates) who failed to beat the January 2, 2012 deadline are SUMMONED to complete their requirements already, and maintain on standby mode for the new deadline. Moreso, to save themselves from possible registration discrepancies, the said salespersons must RESPONSIBLY DOUBLE CHECK their requirements and FIX them even before the announcement of the extended dates.

3. MARCH 2011 BROKERS (NEW PASSERS) ALLOWED TO CERTIFY 60 HOURS

Newly licensed brokers, specifically those who recently passed the licensure examinations held last March 27, 2011 (the first batch of broker examinees under PRC administration), are ALLOWED to certify 60 hours worth of On-the-Job Training, actual work experience, workshops, and the like, to those taking the March 18, 2012 examination. Please be reminded that the PRC license number must appear in the certification, and that the 60 hours must be quantified and the certificate is notarized.
